I've been thinking, William, that this pattern might work pretty well when there are Slate Drakes (Isonychia) around. Although this species does pass from nymph to dun on shore more often than not, the literature suggests that some do hatch in the water. Also, some duns will inevitably fall into the water and "drown", and this pattern should serve well to imitate such critters.
