Mike - That is a gorgeous fish. Beautifully composed, too. You should print and frame that picture.

Agreed. Wouldn't turn up my nose at the gear, either. That is a gorgeous fish.
I have used them from size 10 to 20. On this day I was using one tied in a size 14 1x short 2x heavy wet fly hook. The rod is an 8 1/2' 5wt glass rod i built on an experimental blank. Reel is an orvis cfo III . Nice combo for this type of fishing.swellcat wrote: Sat Jun 22, 2019 7:02 amAgreed. Wouldn't turn up my nose at the gear, either. That is a gorgeous fish.
What sizes of the stillwater soft hackle have you fished?

What color is the body of the fly? I looked up the material as I never heard tell of it before and they offer a lot of different colours. I'm amazed at what trout will hit given all the different patterns that are out there. Thank you.
The d rib is clear, over the tinselraven4ns wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2019 9:00 am Hello,
I should have been more clear, I meant the D rib. Thank you.
It's not unusual, but 80's are normal.ForumGhillie wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2019 6:57 am Mike,
Sweet fly!
Side Note: Our daughter and I stayed over night in Miles on June 6th at the Econo Lodge heading to Glacier NP. It was 94 degrees!! Is it always that hot there in June?
