I'd love to tie a bunch more flies with bronze peacock herl bodies but I have two problems, as do most of you. Namely, finding "wide" peacock herl and secondly, "wide bronze-colored" peacock herl. Strung herl is out of the question and bronze-colored peacock eyes have been difficult to find.
A friend has graciously (THANKS Dave) "donated" some of his "wide" peacock herl, and over the years, I've tried to sort out the bronze herl from the green. I've tried the leaving green peacock herl on my car's dashboard and other ways of TRYING to make bronze herl but to no avail.
But, if I can find more bronze herl, there will definitely be more flies dressed with it.
