great flies and great tying. I like it when pictures of a fly are something more then just a technical picture of the fly. I like it when the background plays a role in the whole sphere o the ying of the fly: you perfectly succeed in that. thanks for sharing!!

My back finally improved enough to allow me to do some tying. The Wasatch micro ceramic bobbin is sweet. While nothing I have tied is worthy of posting here, I can say that the new bobbin has opened a new world for me. Thanks to those of you who recommended it and to Ray for pointing me in the direction of a supplier.

Congratz on being back in the saddle John.......btw, where are you in Idaho. We just got our 2012 invites for the Boise show this eve.

John- I'm glad to hear your back is improving. My wife recently had back problems and could barely move. For a few days she was in constant torment.

Please share your flies with us. I always enjoy seeing your creations. Have fun with that bobbin.

No kiddin'.....did we meet you back in May at the show? i tyed every shift there at the Red Lion Hotel where they held the Expo. My wife was giving casting instruction and signing books most of the time. We're you there? Sure is some beautiful country you got there. We'd never been in that part of Idaho before, and we had a great time. We came down from I-90, but when we left we took the road over to Lolo Pass........then back up to Butte. What a great ride that was.

No, I was not able to make it over to the show. I had to work for part of it and then I got a real bad sinus infection that knocked me out of action for several days. I had really hoped to get over there, so I was quite disappointed. Yes, Idaho is a great place for outdoors folk. Along with steelhead and salmon right here in town on the Clearwater and Snake, we also have a number of great trout streams within a few hours' drive, lowland lakes full of panfish and bass, plus some of the most remote and beautiful wilderness areas in the lower 48, not to mention the fantastic fishing around Yellowstone Park and in eastern Idaho.

Sorry you missed the show........i have no idea if we can make it next year or not............our plan has been to stop doing so many shows over time.....i mean fewer and fewer as time goes by......but it's so hard to say no to invites. We love doing them, but it just cost a fortune.................anyway. i know what you mean bout all the great fishing out there. It's amazing..............just endless fishing. Your so fortunate to have all those steelhead so close.........they're are such an ultimate quarry. A few nice steelhead is a lifetime accomplishment and fullfillment............all the best of luck in your fishing.
