I am feeling a lot better, so here is a Greenwell Spider
Hook: #14
Silk: YLI #214 Dandelion/Daffodill.
Body: Tying silk well waxed. White wax.
Rib: Tying silk well twisted.
Hackle: Metz furnace hen.

The hackle was brushed forward to show body better.
It probably needs a darker wax.
I think the focus could be a lot better.

Donald, Howdy;

It's a good looking fly.

Think that the auto focus grabbed onto the vise jaw. Do you have the selectable small rectangles to steer the foucs to a certian point ?

Good to hear you're feeling better.
Knock back a few hot toddies, they'll kill any bug !

I think you are right about the auto focus Hank.
I'll try it again with the fly in the cable clip instead of the vise.

I think this may be a bit better.
I got carried away a bit with waxing :)

Donald that's a great looking tie. Perhaps this has been discussed before but I was wondering about the hook you're using. Is it a 2x short hook or is this simply what one gets with this hook design?

Regards, Jerry

Not really Hank, at least I don't think so.
The trouble is I need to use extra magnification to look closely at my flies,
but I have skipped using it and have been just using my ordinary reading
glasses and I have not seen the surplus wax that squeezes out of the silk.
You can clear it away, if you see it.  ;)

Oh, and about the hook, have a look at this page on my web-site,
this is the type of hook that Roger Fogg likes, he mentions it in
the book you've got.
