The way I roped these hairs and brought them forward, some would come into contact with the shank, but it would be sparatic. Couldn't hurt I suppose. But I would really be surprised if these bodies came undone before the hackle shredded to nothing. Then I guess you'd have the sweet cased caddis pattern dd was talking about.
