The dubbing was made of silk out of the brodery-shop, than cut the silk in pieces of 1 cm and put the whole mess in a coffe-grinder.
The silk becomes a bit translucent so that is wy the wire shines trough the dubbing.

That is very interesting Ruard. I have a good selection of Kreinik silk dubbing,
that I have not got around to trying yet. I shall definitely have to give it a go.
I am never sure about taking pictures of wet flies, only the angler sees them like that.
I think a set up with a small fish tank (aquarium) would let you see them as the fish do,
or at least closer to their view. I'm not trying to be picky, just a thought.
They are great flies and a nice furnace skin.

Hi Donald,
Agree with you that the wet pictures are not the way fish see them, I think that the hackles are more like the way they are when the fly is dry, if you move the fly in water then the hackles could puls in and out. I did take the wet pictures to show how the body is wet.
