Been out of town for few days, and need to catch up on the forum.
Jim and Otter, I'm working on a new Ansel Adams book that includes something along the same lines as what you're talking about:
one of Ansel’s favorite sayings by Louis Pasteur: “Chance favors the prepared mind.”
Ansel was famous for taking some of his best photos on the spur of the moment, when the fleeting light was perfect for only a few minutes.

Stevie Ray... one of my favs too.. a true loss. Thanks for the welcome... funny though Jim didn't bring me in, believe it or not I just happen to log in for the first time and see the thread so thought I'd throw in my 2 cents... maybe 1.5 cents at best...
