Wayne, I enjoyed your response about the meds and I am so glad that you too have decided to come down and dry out! Don't they make reality shows about celebrities going thru rehab? I have a feeling I am close with the name....Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew? I really don't watch alot of t.v. anymore thank goodness!
Chris, one more question. Where in the world did you come up with this electric blue partridge skin? Did you dye it yourself? Just the few barbs showing are awesome. I can't imagine what the whole skin looks like!

I promise. This is the last blue pattern for a long, long time. I am floating tomorrow, but the river is muddy. It has 12 inches visibility . That can mean heaven or hell. if I locate the fish and put something big right in front of their noses, I will hammer the trout. If I can't find them, then I will have to resort to Streamers and work the banks. Small patterns will be out for the most part. Size 6, 4x long Stone nymphs, and large eggs will probably be the patterns I start with. Oh, and a big size 8 caddis i just tied!

Thread/Abdomen - 8/0 Uni, Chartreuse
Rib - Clear Midge Tubing with a Black Wire Core
Thorax - Mr. peacock Dubbing (Blue)
Collar - Dark Partridge.

Uh oh. Confession time. I had wanted to get some kind of a blue hackle for the Blue Fly Challenge I have at TenkaraBum.com and I couldn't find blue partridge. The next best thing is blue dyed silver pheasant.

These are really cool! I like Hareline products very much. When I look at your photo of the intense blue in these dyed feathers, it really cranks my handle. Kingfisher blue! I am going to commit this to memory and I will still write it down on my "wish/want" list tucked away in one of my catalogs....just to be double sure I get some soon! Thanks for the quick and cool response!

Took me a minute. I've sharpened hooks a lot of ways, but never on a spoon!
I have a spool of the blue tinsel. I think I've ties three flies off of it. I can't even remember where it came from.
I think about the only blue fish food we have down here would be a Damsel Fly. A little more difficult with that long, slender abdomen.

Kirk, the treble hook was trailing the spoon. Like this...

That isn't the exact spoon, but it gives you an idea. The weight of the spoon further embedded the hook, and it went all the way in...all the way to the bend, so it was level with my finger, slightly under the finger nail.

Oh, forgot to mention, I love blue flies, and kingfisher blue, and silver doctor blue are my two favorites. I liked the body work too, very nice.
