Great looking fly Wayne. Is the thorax dubbed with Fly Tying Dungeon dubbing? It looks like one of their Mr. Peacock blends. I love that stuff.
I tie a bucktail streamer pattern which has a similar body (black rib over copper body). A color combination I find striking.

WOW! You are good!
The Mr. Peacock dubbing, from FlyTyers dungeon is exactly what it is!
I have been on an Olive Brown thorax kick for my patterns of late. Thought I would throw a Partridge Hackle using Bills technique on to one of my nymph patterns.

Bill - As I study these photos closely, image six catches my eye. If you look closely at the section of feather to the left of the wraps, it looks like you'd be left with a perfect little extended body, once the hackle steam is trimmed off. I would be tempted to use this technique to create extended bodies and maybe even wrap the base end to form a thorax. Thanks for the inspiration.
It works better with the hackle stem pointed the other way ...

(Apologies for the genre)

I would be tempted to prop the butt end up to resemble a wing.
As far as photo triggers. If you have a app phone there are apps that allow you to use your voice to take a shot. Some cameras can even connect wirelessly to such.

Carl - I would be interested in the names of the apps. Which ones would you recommend?

NICE! You just saved me $30 or more for a partridge pelt with small enough feathers that I might see once every two years
