Hi Mark;

My apologies for the misspelling. That's what happens when old people stay up past their bed times. All posts have been corrected.

I got to watch him tie once, many years ago in Eugene, Ore. He was quite the character. I bought three flies from him fresh off of his vise. You can bet they will never see the water. I used to have a copy of his book, but sold it during one of my periodic "simplify" fits.

WOW! that is to cool John............i've got to see SCADS of the giants tye, but never had that chance. He had a legendary rep. for bein quite the charactor all right. i've been a fan of his for a long time.....mostly because he was a conservationist.....a true conservationist. Something (in my estimation) bout 90% of all anglers fail to put forth the effort in becomming........Knock Knock.....know-what-i-mean?
Personally, it makes me sick to have to witness all that "i gotta fish fish fish fish fish" mentality bullcrap, when there is so much work to be done..............but anyway.
i have a framed print with 4 flies in it, of Polly's self portrait (got it at the Idaho Falls show.........i think.....

.....

), and another framed Steelhead fly he tyed i picked up at the CFFC&M.
Glad you had the chance to meet the guy...........hadda be a blast.
