The first one is just an enlarged version of the BP² Flymph I recently posted. The flies are tyed on Gamakatsu Salmon Tapered Loop Up Eye hooks (Model T10-6H/Size 8). The second fly is tyed with peacock herl and wine colored UNI-Yarn. These colors play nicely together, don't ya think?

Great stuff Ray!! :D
The colours do play well together, almost a "bleeding baitfish" effect on your second offering. #8 is probably a lot more user friendly for most fly fishing applications versus trolling flies or harling from a boat those big bohemith things I have been tying....... but the only Salmon Irons I have a lot of are #1 and up, apart from a couple of packets of very nice blue Gamakatsu hooks. ;)

You had me at 'steelhead flymphs.' Nice flies, Ray! I would love to swing them for the steelies around here. :)

Here's a link to a few spiders I tied a couple years ago.

Nice to give your patterns a stretch. I especially like the beautiful palmered hackles. Good luck with these.
