Thanks for the feedback everyone. Hans, your comments are helpful and dead on. A few months ago I wouldn't have let that kind of thing slide, at the moment...I just didn't catch it. Thank you sincerely for the suggestions.
My pic set-up is in transition so shooting these was kind of weird, but as with other things, it has to get worse before it gets better, and I've got big plans for such a simple little set up. Give me an undetermined amount of time and I'll have it worked out and post it. It and the tying cabinet (no longer just a portable station) is pretty cool. I'll put it back up and reshoot the olive fly if you like. I see it both ways, I fall into the camp of do it to the best of your ability if you're going to do it, or to the point that you care, but also another position. I find the photographing of these flies in itself interesting and important and also kind of silly to a point. When the pics either effect what I'm willing to share, or worse, discourage anyone else from posting what on their vise I find that unacceptable. Fortunately, I don't find it an either/or and happily ride the fence. I hope you find my pics as falling into the first camp, but I'm comfortable at times someplace in between.
The posts and number of pics posted in this forum has continued to grow and demonstrates a diverse and exceptional group of tiers. Kudos to this group.
I seem to always say too much these days. My apologies.
