Ross and Brahma

Post by tie2fish » Mon Mar 21, 2011 12:16 pm

Remember the thread in Tying Wingless Wets entitled "I Have This Gray Cat ..." by Dougsden? Well, the cat is named Ross, and his belly fur goes pretty well with Brahma hen.

Hook: Mustad 94842 (R50U), #14
Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer, hot orange
Hackle: Brown Bramha hen cape
Tail: Brown Brahma hen cape fibers
Body: Ross' gray belly fur in thread dubbing loop

I'd say you're right. The Ross and Brahma pattern works out great. I haven't seen Brahma in a while and it looks amazing on this one. The hackle is really alive. Beautifully tied. I need to find my Brahma skin.

tie2fish, Howdy;

I thought you were refering to Ross the Intern from the tonight show, THAT would have been colorful! :lol: :lol:

What you have done with from Ross the Cat is really nice. Like the way it all sorts blends togather yet has enough difference
to see the seperate parts...

It almost looks like a march brown pattern. I need to give this a try. I have some cat dubbing that looks similar.

Bill,
This is fantastic! I held Ross up to the monitor but he wasn't real impressed. But, I was!
This pattern has kick! A definate fish catcher! I agree with Letumgo. The fur in the twisted dubbing loop is boss! I'll have to have a talk with Ross. We are trying to raise appreciative cats!
Thanks again Bill. I think it's great!
