Bill, I like the combining of herl types to achieve something different. A nicer solution than dying materials. Between OH, myself and this, the little black flies are all the rage. Great pattern. The hook and proportions here are the mark I'm usually trying to match.

If I had one colour to choose from in a fly is would be black, black and black.
But now, this little fly is pure sex....

If you want the black without having to dye pheasant tail, you can get natural black turkey tail here: http://www.feathersmc.com/products/Spanish%20Black

Wow, a guy could go broke with all of those colors. I never realized that there were so many different shades of natural turkey.

Thanks, CM. There's a nice band of nearly black on a white-tipped turkey tail also.

Oh I like that a lot. I use a cinnamon turkey and lots natural turkey tail fibers for herl bodies, but this ups the game and breaks the bank doesn't it. Thanks for that link, I had no idea there were rare turkey tails to be had. Blended with the colors of silk...amazing.
