Re: Orange Muskrat
I posted this fly more for advise on photography and background tips. You have all been very helpfull, and have given me an incredible amount of fuel for thought. For that I am truely thankfull. As I mess with a pattern or just stumble onto a new (to me) idea, I will post pictures when I can. Again, thank you all.

Re: Orange Muskrat
Great post, William. Amazing how the look of the fly changes on the different backgrounds.

For me the orange in the bottom pic seems to pop more and the hackle looks a little less washed out. Blue and orange are complimentary colours on the colour scale so the blue should make the orange pop more. The background colour is really a deciding factor between making a pic bold or not.

My vice is dirty too I just thought I'd help out your darling wife and rub it in a little. Us gals gotta stick together!

DUBBIN, Howdy;
Lookin back thru your pix and those of dub-ya's, I have to admit. My first impression was hasty.
The gray background allowed the tips of the hackle to sort of fade away. Whereas,
with the blue background the tips were sharp and distintive. Also, the orange has a warmer hue to it
and appears 'fuller'.
I'm switching my vote to the blue.
