I learned a few things on this attempt at posting pics. If I am going to photograph inside, I am going to need more and better lighting. Grey backgrounds don't work well with Grey flys.
With a little more practice (playing) I am sure it will start to come around.
Here is a pic of another fly that I didnt like the way I tyed off the head, but I believe the picture is much better.

This fly came about as a joint venture with my fishing buddy and friend Bob S. We wanted a small, slim, very light Olive Baetis emerger, and through trial and error this is what we came up with. It's name comes from a pool on the Roaring Fork River that we nick named the "Plunge". It was at this pool a few years back that this little fly really came into it's own. Thus the name, "Plunge Emerger".

I'm really enjoying your flies, Wayne. I love the long slender bodies. Great stuff!

Helpful Photography Tip - I notice that the fly is a bit blurry on the top photo. If you look carefully, you can see that the camera's autofocus has locked in on the background instead of the fly. Sometimes you can place a flat object up against the fly (actually touching it) when trying to get the camera to pick the right focal point. Once you press the button, you can remove the object while waiting for the time delay to activate the shutter.

You may want to check the manual to see if you can manually set the light source. Many cameras let you choose the light source (natural sunlight, shade, incandescent bulb, etc.). You may find that the color looks more natural if you change the setting from sunlight to the incandescent bulb.

Photo Post Processing - If you haven't already, I recommend downloading a copy of the free Google Picasa photo editing software (http://picasa.google.com/intl/en/). This software is very easy to use and would allow you to adjust the contrast and color to better match what you see with your own eyes. There are tools to allow minor adjustments to straighten photos, crop to various sizes (aspect ratios), etc.

Here is a video link, showing the features of the Picasa software (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rskC6c_5L1M)

Have fun!
