There are some great looking patterns in this thread, well dont to all that posted their ties.
I have never seen or had any Chadwicks 477, have read of the mysterious yarn and it's qualities. Recently I found some yarns at a local wollen mill in their samples bin, one or two may substitute for the 477 and some of it is on it's way to the States now...... be interesting to see if the receivers think along the same lines.

I saw this today, and it reminded me of this thread. It does not have hackle, but it looks so simple to tie. I am gonna have to try this, and some of the ones on here too. I hate to buy more wool though. It required oyster colored Shetland wool. I looked up the price... 5.25 not bad at all. I have a box full of acrylic yarn, and some wool. Maybe people here would be interested in a wool swap...lol.

Outstanding contributions. I found it fascinating to read the various posts and see all of these patterns.
