A wonderful version, Ruard.

Not a fly pattern I use here, but I did some reading and Eric Taverner eluded to using a Ginger Quill as a Pale Watery Dun pattern..... so this fell off the vice.

Image

Hook: Sprite Perfect International #14.
Thread: Yellow #12.
Hackle: Ginger spade hackle.
Tail: Ginger hackle barbs.
Abdomen: Strip of feather shaft taken from a Peacock tail feather, (coloured on the inside with flouro yellow highlighter pen) wrapped over thread base.
Thorax: Australian Possum fur taken from the inside back leg of a silver/grey variant.

Jeff - marvelous fly. The sprint hook is a lovely frame. I like the look of the Perfect bend and short shank. You have balanced the fly beautifully. The proportions are perfect, to my eye.

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Scanning details still need some working out, colours still didn't come out looking true, but thanks Ray.

Old Hat, that is a fantastic looking tie. More true to Pale Watery than my feeble offering and has a really classic look.

MM, not at all. Yours is marvelous and I love the spidery look to it. I didn't read it carefully enough and didn't notice that the body was quill. It is cool to see the Sprite perfect in action as well.

The pattern I show has no creativity on my part the dressing is exactly as listed in Art of Tying the Wet Fly by Leisenring. I'm glad you think it has the classic look. that is what I was after. Only my interpretation as I have never seen a picture of the pattern.

Vintage-look, delicate profile, classy hook, beautifully executed. Yes, I like it...a LOT! Well done, Carl (Old Hat)...as always.

Each of these is a mini-masterpiece in its own right; thanks, guys, for sharing.

Howdy All;

Based upon the submissions of dub-ya, tye2fish and Ruard,
I think I'm going to stick my head in a hole in the ground and
stay there till Spring..... ya'll are just gettin' warmed-up and
you're hitting it out of the Park already ..... ,
