Thanks guys. Truth be known, I never carry or use the likes here for the locals, perhaps I am too moulded in the way of small flies? My intentions were to tie a few up and send them over to someone here who actually fishes for Salmon and Sea-Run.

Red-Blue Spey.



Interesting one as it is the first fly I have tied the old fashioned way by not using a bobbin holder. Still used a vice though!
Hook: #1 Salmon
Thread was one strand stripped from embroidery yarn.
Tag: flat silver tinsel
Lower body: Red seal fur
Front section rib: Medium oval tinsel
Front section body hackle: Dyed blue Guinea Fowl palmered through front body and wrapped as a collar.
Front hackle: Dyed red Guinea Fowl

Jeff - For someone who does not fish this style fly, you've done a terrific job with the proportions (very traditional looking profile) and aesthetics. Bravo.

Bit of a "biggie" but here goes.
Hook: #2/0!
Thread: Orange sewing cotton
Tag: Flat gold tinsel followed by tying thread
Lower Body: 24 gauge gold wire
Upper Body Rib: Oval gold tinsel
Upper Body: Dubbing noodle 30% orange seal fur, 30% brown alpaca wool and 40% orange acrylic wool mixed and teased together.
Ist Hackle: Organza ribbon stripped to single strands
2nd Hackle: Unsure, but think it is a wing feather from a Peahen. *
3rd Hackle: French (Chukar, Red Legged..... call it what you will) partridge
Head: Hends Spectra Dubbing black

* I must take a photo of these feathers, I have a lot of them, some forum members have received some and might know what I am talking about.
