The other day I was looking through my hackle collection and stumbled upon a Ewing hen hackle I got years ago when I started to tie flies. It is dyed olive -yellowish and is quite subtle. The packaging does not say exactly what is is but it could be Bleached Olive or Bleached Golden Olive. Feeling a bit creative today I set out to construct a baetis/sulphur spider patterns. And I found the perfect thread to go with the hackle; a Superfine silk LT1293 Laurel Green #3 from Pearsall's Embroidery. It is light green/olive with a translucent touch to it.

Absolutely lovely ties. So delicate it looks like you could blow them off the screen with just a puff of air. I'm particularly taken with the

Could not pick a favorite, would have to grab the entire batch

Stunning was the first wood that crossed my mind, too. I love this set. The subtle variations make for the most interesting viewing. Gorgeous. Especially in love with the yellow "dubbed" body. Just a touch of vitality. Beautiful pics.
