Re: Beacon
That one will fish, especially south of the Mason-Dixon...if you blended that orange "scud" dubbing with a bit of the cream CDC from your other fly (and throw in your "two tone" partridge/ginger hen hackle to boot
) you would have the makings of a great sulphur emerger.

Re: Beacon
This fetching fly brings back memories of the "Hot Spot" swap we did a while back, and they are all good. The wonderfully shaggy body is a tad long for my personal taste, but then I am not a fish and probably should not judge
.

Buggy for sure, A killer in the water, really like the rough body and the colour combination.

Yes. I really like the hot spot on this fly. A real eye catcher, fish catcher too, I bet.

Re: Beacon
CC, you got me all excited with the title of this thread. Being dyslexic, I thought it said bacon, and I do love me some bacon.
After looking at the fly pattern I reread the title. I was somewhat disappointed that we weren't gonna talk about bacon, but that is one lovely fly. That hot spot is bright, but if it was dull it wouldn't be a hot spot would it? Nicely done. Bet it's a fish catcher for sure.
