IMO) Ostrich works fine wet or dry. Black Ostrich with palmered Grizzly hackle Spade fly for steelhead.

Yep you guys are right. That's just what I did. I put them in water, watched the movement and when I took the out it matted. Dumb. In the water they do move. Pond Perch!!! I"m on it.
And yes, if you add the Grizzly hackle it does work as a Trico. Now to get it on the river and work the shore tight.
