Since we were talking about alpaca, I was messing around with a soft hackle today.
Partridge Patriot Barbless Sproat Wet #14
Under Body: green flashabou
Over Body: Deer Creek Diamond Fine
Thorax: alpaca
Hackle: brown hen

Funny you posted an Alpaca pattern. I tied some Black Prince variations today using Alpaca ,Beaver and some synthetic dubbings. Your pattern looks great. I used Brown hen as well.

I suppose. Definately not in your class of fly tying.
Pretty much hack patterns here, but I think I can fool a trout or two with them this Winter. Being size 16, maybe I can get lucky and fool a silly trout in to thinking they are Winter Stones.

I don't think you will have any trouble fooling trout with those, they look great!
You have pulled off the stone look.

Those will serve you well, Wayne.

			Paul,
I just saw your fly. Oh wow! I love the body work. What is "Deer Creek Diamond Fine"? Is that a type of UV cure resin?

			Thanks guys!
Yes, Deer Creek Diamond Fine is a UV resin.
I started using it because it actually works as it says it does.

I haven't used any alpaca but buying dog food last winter I had someone give me a small baggie of llama in natural brown.
