Bob White Quail spider

Post by Niklas Dahlin » Sat May 22, 2010 2:51 am

Morning mates (well here it is anyway :D )

Got my sticky ones on a Bob White Quail skins. Really nice feathers for spiders, super easy to wrap and havn´t broken a single stem wrapping them yet. I took this feather just from above the wing. Lovely dark spots on them. The body is thread and a hackle stem as a rib, and some peacock herl... just playing around, think it will work

Nik, that's a beauty. The quail hackle sure has some striking mottling to it to give that alive appeal. I like the hook as well. Thanks for sharing this one.

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Very handsome fly, Nick! The hackle is great and the rib is a lovely touch. Thanks for sharing.

Nik,
Please, keep experimenting! I am liking very much what I see here. Wow! That's a killer pattern.

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.
