Here is a very simple pattern. Originated from a variation on a classic steelhead fly by the same name. It is one of my favorite steelhead patterns mainly because of the simplistic beauty of the pattern and the fact that there are not a lot of green steelhead patterns.

Thread: Pearsall's Highlander green
Rib: fine flat silver tinsel
Body: dark green lamb's wool
Hackle: soft grizzly dun hen hackle
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Very nice!
I like the simplistic lines that are well tied and the green just pops as a body colour.

Lovely conversion, Carl. Such a clean/crisp rendition. I have long been drawn to the grizzly king patterns. Add this one to my list of favorites. ;)

Carl, I'm jealous of you steelheaders. This is a great little fly, but the anticipation of connecting with a steelhead with a Grizzly King (what a name!) must be amazing. I'll get there one of these days. Nicely tied pattern. The lambs wool is very vibrant. Nice combo.
